No Time

Sister bought a rose for me
Sky king roared with jealousy
No time

Been all over the fourteen hills
Spent my last two twenty bills
How fine

Where were you before?
No time

The moonshine got the best of you
Scuffed black belt with a twenty-two
Moonshine

Cracked blue paint on the wall
Said I'd grow up strong and tall
Tough grind

It was all for you
But you showed no signs

How many roads have you crossed?
How many loves have you lost?
It's your time to shine
But you got no time

Well, sister bought a rose for me
Sky king roared with jealousy
No time

I've been all over the fourteen hills
Spent my last two twenty bills
How fine

Where were you before?
No time

Well, moonshine got the best of you
Scuffed black belt with a twenty-two
Moonshine

The cracked blue paint on the wall
Said I'd grow up strong and tall
Tough grind

It was all for you
But you showed no signs

What have you gained from your pain?
Waitin' for the sun to rise again
It was your time to shine
But you lost the time

Wonder

In my rear view mirror
Lifeless leaves danced
In the bed where
I dreamt but never slept

Peacock feather dress
Naked underneath
X-ray vision when
I got too curious

Waving hands caress the sky
A timeless goodbye
Take me to that pleasant place
Back to wonder

Miss moon flower girl
Won’t you bloom again?
Black to lavender
The sand will do the trick

Sunshine blinded boy
He perfects his ploy
Thornless roses
That he hands out to the girls

Waving hands caress the sky
A timeless goodbye
Take me to that pleasant place
Back to wonder

Take the promenade
Back to wonder
White chalk drawings
That the rain will wash away

Crystal ball of the past
Wall of looking glass
Went by far too fast
When will it pass?

Waving hands caress the sky
A timeless goodbye
Take me to that pleasant place
Back to wonder

From My Eyes

Hello there, where are you from and what's your name
What does it matter, it's all the same
Forget that drink in front of you babe
And I'll show you what we could do

Got my head in the gutter but my mind's on you
And I underestimated all the things that you'll do
And baby I'm not ashamed of you
I see you got the things that I need and I got the guts
You better save your ifs, ands, and your buts
Please take me to that place

From the day I laid my eyes on you
Till the morning time when you lost your shoes
I couldn't wait for you to take the love from my heart
And harvest all the tears from my eyes

You know those understandings that weren't understood
And the things that I did that I thought would be good
Well just forget them, I'll try it again
Cause baby you're a ten out of ten

You've been in you've been out and around
It's hard to keep my feet on the ground
When you sit there and look at me
Don't try me

I see you got the things that I need and I got the guts
You better save your ifs, ands, and your buts
Please take me to that place

From the day I laid my eyes on you
Till the morning time when you lost your shoes
I couldn't wait for you to take the love from my heart
And harvest all the tears from my eyes

From the day I laid my eyes on you
Till the morning time when you lost your shoes
I couldn't wait for you to take the love from my heart
And harvest all the tears from my eyes

Someday

Someday I’ll be old
You’ll have gone away
Someday I've been told
You’ll take my place

Don’t go searching for warmth
Inside the cold
Wishing that yellow road that you're on
Would turn to gold

Wise man
Wise man, the things you have seen haven’t told
Old man
Old man, I’ll comfort you in the cold

Somewhere along
I’ll find it’s okay
When the clouds roll in
What will I say?

Don’t be wishing you’d done things
You’d never done
The wars have been fought out
The trigger's been pulled on the gun

My friend don’t wait until it’s the end
This isn't the way you must stay
Young man
You can’t cower at the dawn of a day

Someday, you’ll have gone away

Tall Black Walls

When I was a boy, I struggled a while
I found myself down at the bottom
I tried to impress, with little success
I mainly kept to myself

Good times were far and few between
Some kind of hell was raised from beneath
The songs that I heard all gave me the chills
And my state was a hard pill to take

Tall black walls of my own remorse
Held me back from true feelings
I sat all alone and I withered away
And the whole time I knew it would end

Some time has past and the pain didn’t last
Somehow the forces got balanced
My own mind, it set me free
To do all the things that I pleased

I was hauled out of the black hole
Where I lived for so long

Night Rumble

Rumble in your head
Girl in your bed
And drink all over the ground
But that's enough
You've had too much
But baby you're a rolling stone

It's the night rumble

Drink fine champagne
Wear golden chains
But where is your misery
The day goes blue
Goes red for you
So take off your hat and shoes

Ashes on your coat
And a frog in your throat
You look from across the room
But she's got another man
You gonna do the best you can

It's the night rumble

In Monte Cristo
He shot his pistol
In the heart of a broken man
But she's still gonna move
She's got the groove
And I just can't refuse

It's the night rumble
It's the night rumble
It's the night rumble
It's the night rumble
It's the night rumble
It's the night rumble

Footprints Outside Your Door

I tried to make the best of my problems
Even though I knew that they weren't small
I heard you wanted things to be more real
I only wish that they were real at all

If you wake up and see my footprints outside your door
I hope you remember the memories that have died
If by chance you see my message on the phone
It's because I thought that I should say goodbye

I get the feeling all your dreams expired
And I know things didn't go the way I'd planned
If you feel like things were left to be desired
It’ll ease your mind to know I feel the same

If you wake up and see my footprints outside your door
I hope you remember the memories that have died
If by chance you hear my message on the phone
It's because I thought that I should say goodbye

Would you be upset if I told you
That all along you were really me
I know that you'll arrive here someday
And all I'll have to do is be me

If you wake up and see my footprints outside your door
I hope you remember the memories that have died
If by chance you hear my message on the phone
It's because I thought that I should say goodbye

If you wake up and see my footprints outside your door
I hope you remember the memories that have died
If by chance you hear my message on your phone
It's because I thought that I should say goodbye

If you wake up and see my footprints outside your door
It's because I thought that I should say goodbye
If by chance you hear my message on the phone
It's because I thought that I should say goodbye

Hungry Heart

When I roll out of bed
I’ve got so much to say
But since I’ve been talking to you
It’s all gone away
Not a day goes by
When you don’t cross my mind
It’s only a matter of time
Till he gets you and I’m left behind

The look on my face is blank
My happiness faded away
My body is feeling so cold
Cause my heart’s with you and you’re gone

Been working my hands to the bone
I wish that you’d give me a try
Cause I know I'll get nowhere alone
Don’t make me a lonely guy
My common sense isn’t around
I got to get out of my head
And I know I’d be safe and sound
If I were in yours instead

The look on my face is blank
My happiness faded away
My body is feeling so cold
Cause my heart’s with you and you’re gone

Every night since we met
I’ve been sitting her wishing on stars
And I know I’ll mope and fret
About mending and healing my scars
I thought of you right from the start
And about how much you deserve
But I have a hungry heart
And I know you won’t let it starve

Fair Again (Behind the Fog)

Way back then, the air was clear
And the people had their fair share
Now there’s people drownin’ out in the sea
And others flying through the air
There was always a road that led somewhere
Now they’ve all turned to dead ends
And there’s lonely faces in many places
And I’m wishin I had a friend

Bring the old back to home
Bring the old back to home
We gotta make things fair again
We gotta make things fair again

Not many have seen what’s behind the fog
Of the life that we all live
But the ones that have are the ones that are trying
To make us all forgive
And the people from the village
They're asking us how and why
Although we don’t know we didn’t make the mess
Salvation where are you now

Bring the old back to home
Bring the old back to home
We gotta make things fair again
We gotta make things fair again

And the children are all oblivious
To what weighs down the working man
And the people from the past
Are coming up to make their stand
When the kings and queens from the monarchy
Came along and crushed their plans
Nothing more will be said at the end of the day
Than, "we're doing the best we can"

Bring the old back to home
Bring the old back to home
We gotta make things fair again
Bring the old back to home

The Game

I've had enough of this stupid game that we’ve been playing for so long
The game I never was all that good at playing, manipulating

Pigeons and Crows

Once upon a time, a little pigeon knew the way
But lying and deceit, wouldn't let it see another day

Innocence and truth, all to soon did disappear
All because the crow swooped in and pushed them far from here

It felt like dangling from a thread, then falling off the edge
Then hell broke loose, they hung the noose, and we all took the pledge

The pigeon became a crow, no one cared to know
How the pigeon really died, and lost someone along the way

The Man and the Minions

The boys and the girls are all affected
This disease they have, they all get neglected
Despite all of them being caught
When they left the room, they all forgot

The kids refuse to flee
Being forced to agree
But not the ones like me
Not the ones like… me

Your minions like your imitations
But the ones like I fight temptations
You baffle them, and you use deceit
Try on their shoes, c’mon slip in your feet

Been here long enough to see behind your eyes
We’re lucky enough to realize
That if we try to hard, it’s all in vain
Kneeling at your feet in a pool of pain

The kids don’t understand
The situation that’s at hand
Don’t listen to the wise man
Don’t listen to the… man

Your minions like your imitations
But the ones like I fight temptations
You baffle them, and you use deceit
Try on their shoes, c’mon slip in your feet

We all pretend to get a kick out of it
Because of your talent to outwit
There’s nobody home or in their heads
So long live the man is what they said

Fifth Boulevard

Down at the bar on Fifth Boulevard
There’s a man sitting there, on a bar stool chair
He seems so alone, he’s got no car and no home
Nobody cares
He knows he needs a girl
Who's kind
Who'll see
He’s lonely as can be
Down at
The bar
On Fifth Boulevard

She’s in a condo in her silk gown
With a pile of cash and a champagne glass
“She’s livin' the life” is what everyone tells her
But she knows better

She knows she needs a guy
Who’ll save
Her from
The miserable life
She leads
Alone
Waiting for the unknown

She goes down to the bar on Fifth Boulevard
She sits beside a man with his face on his hand
He said "I'd love to buy you a drink, but I've got no money"
"I'm sorry I don't look my best, my burden is heavy"

Down at the bar on Fifth Boulevard
There’s a man sitting there, on a bar stool chair
He seems so alone, he’s got no car and no home
Nobody cares

He knows he needs a girl
Who's kind
Who'll see
He’s lonely as can be
Down at
The bar
On Fifth Boulevard

Broken Dog

Say you’re a teaser
With no traits of a pleaser
Promises made but not kept
Afternoons over slept

Oh girl you're feeding me poison
Don’t you know that you're bringing me down
I've got to pack up my things and move right out of this town

Broken dog by the bridge
Scrounging for his next fix
Better find your mind vacant
Better hit the ground quick

You hand over your nights to sorrow
Howlin’ at the full blue moon
Oh, broken dog you better shape up and get here soon

Thirty men on white horses
All collecting their debt
Of past words dun' slipped through
It will come to them yet

You never know who is standing there
Behind the blind side of your back
You better pay it back soon or watch your lives slip through the cracks

Fly with the Eagles

Is it a crime, to turn away
To say Im sorry when she went through hell
But hey! It’s done now
Gotta follow my gut cuz it’s hard to tell
Woah woah woah
I’m winnin’ but I’m loosin’
Did I do it right when I was choosin
Hope it works out alright in the end

I'm runnin out of time and I'm runnin fast
It's a simple question that's so hard to ask
Yes or no answer will light my way
But I won't turn back no not today
I wanna fly with the eagles
Gotta make myself a man
No more flyin with seagulls
I want you and that's the plan

Is it a sin to say I'm in
It's been a long time comin and it went so quick
But hey! It's over with
I got a hold of myself before I called it quits
Whoa woah woah
I had to fight a battle
Had to fight it from within
Yeah, that's the first hurdle of the race

I'm runnin out of time and I'm runnin fast
It's a simple question that's so hard to ask
Yes or no answer will light my way
But I won't turn back no not today

I'm runnin out of time and I'm runnin fast
It's a simple question that's so hard to ask
Yes or no answer will light my way
But I won't turn back no not today
I wanna fly with the eagles
Gotta make myself a man
No more flyin with seagulls
I want you and that's the plan

I'd beg you to stay but you were never here
I should've known that you wouldn't want me
Now hey, listen kids
Pick yourselves cuz after all you’re still on your own
Woah woah woah
I've lost and I'm still loosin'
I did it wrong when I was choosing
I'll hold my head up high a gain someday

I've got nowhere to go and I'm going there fast
Now times up and I finished last
It's time to give up and call it a day
She made it clear that there's no way
I wanna fly with the eagles
Gotta make myself a man
I'm still flyin with seagulls
I'll hang in there the best I can

Play the Fool

The leaves they are a fallin’, I’m surrounded by the colours
I’m tryin not to think of those moronic agitators
All the people follow the corporal alligators
All the kids are sayin’, oh they love their haters

And I just play the fool
And I just play the fool
And I just play the fool

I look into your eyes, they paint a pretty picture
As I try to get rid of the apprehension blister
The other doesn’t get it, he’s a fallacious creature
It’s a shame that I don’t follow Holy Scripture

And I just play the fool
And I just play the fool
And I just play the fool

I sit here wonderin’ why, why I live this lie
I sit here wonderin’ why, cuz I just play the fool

Stupid bloody Tuesdays, John knows what he’s sayin’
Try to be a player and you will end up paying
The feelings felt for you, only are decaying
I try to stay to one side, but I end up swaying

And I just play the fool
And I just play the fool
And I just play the fool

I sit here wonderin’ why, why I live this lie
I sit here wonderin’ why, cuz I just play the fool

You think you are sincere, but I can see you’re acting
The person you perceive is nothing but abstracting
They say I’m not secure, so what’s your problem mister
I guess she’s quite the handful, probably never get her

And I just play the fool
And I just play the fool
And I just play the fool
And I just play the fool

You Can't Change the World

On that rainy Monday morning
When the birds refused to sing
We all lay there helpless
And the school bell didn't ring
Nor did the choir get to sing
And some still hold their head up high
With no regret at all

There you are on the side of the road
With your picket sign and your story told
They couldn't care less what you think of them
Or what you say
Hey girl you can't change the world
People can't even show concern
And they don't really give a damn
Bout what you say

If that's what you believe in
then I guess that's good and fine
But no one wants your two cents in
And don't go stealing mine
And Keep your hands to yourself
Don't start grabbing at what isn't yours
Or what is mine

There you are on the side of the road
With your picket sign and your story told
They couldn't care less what you think of them
Or what you say
Hey girl you can't change the world
People can't even show concern
And they don't really give a damn
Bout what you say

Don't think I'm trying to scare you
That's not what I'm tryin to do
I'm just showing you reality
What's behind the so called truth
And above your little roof
The world ain't so silky smooth
And that'll never change

There you are on the side of the road
With your picket sign and your story told
They couldn't care less what you think of them
Or what you say
Hey girl you can't change the world
People can't even show concern
And they don't really give a damn
Bout what you say

There you are on the side of the road
With your picket sign and your story told
They couldn't care less what you think of them
Or what you say
Hey girl you can't change the world
People can't even show concern
And they don't really give a damn
Bout what you say

I Say So Long

I was lost but refused to be found
It’s time that I got my feet back on the ground
I’ve no business here with nothing to spend
So I sit here awaiting my slow-coming end

I heard there’s a place out far in the west
There’s no one to chat with but somewhere to rest
It’s been out of my head for weeks I can’t count
These oncoming problems I must surmount

I come from the places that you have never seen
I’ve searched far and wide for someone that feels love for me
Akin to love the sky feels for the sea

You call for a battle that I cannot fight
I’m surprised that my fortress has held up the night
I can no longer feel a girl’s warm embrace
For the guiltiness has put me back in my place

If you are to him what green is to leaves
Than I am to you as fire to trees
The oncoming death of my kin to the south
No words of their fortune will come from my mouth

I strum my guitar it refuses to sing
Useless to me like a birds broken wing
I can no longer wait for the cool rains of spring

I tried my best but it will not do
For what I have done nobody knew
My solitude of mind is what makes me go on
And if you are leaving than I say so long
And if you are leaving than I say so long
